In honor of the first baby giraffe born at the Cincinnati Zoo in 26 being, here are 10 wonderful toys  that feature giraffes and are sure to delight your children.

The giraffe alphabet puzzle is a classic memory maker. Made from wood, the chunky pieces are simple for small hands to grasp and fit together in alphabetical order from top to bottom.  This adorable version by Red Fish Toys is offered in natural wood end or multi-colored and features mother and baby!  This product is now something you’ll have to source online. Sophie la Girafe is a classic rubber teething toy that has loved a recent resurgence in popularity as it celebrates its 50th anniversary this year. Born in Paris in 1961, Sophie is made from 100% natural rubber. The toy is effectively like peas in a pod now to the first Sophie Giraffe produced 50 being ago.  Find it at Nordstrom, Park + Vine, and Learning Express Toys. 

The Cloud B Gentle Giraffe with Four Soothing Sounds is a sleepy plush toy that makes a peaceful environment by playing four different recorded sounds.  It has be converted into a standard shower gift that can be found in most specialty toy and baby boutiques. A must-have for the over-the-top nursery or playroom is the Melissa & Doug Giant Giraffe plush. Measuring at just under five feet tall, this toy towers over most children and invites hugs from all.  Look for this at the Cincinnati Zoo’s Family Zoo gift shop. You might also find it at Ted’s Toy Store in Madeira, King Arthur’s Court Toys in Oakley, or Joseph Beth in Norwood. If they don’t have it in the store, they can liable order it for you.

The Schleich company makes a veritable menagerie of animals, including a Giraffe family – calf, mother and father.  These durable, realistic, hard plastic figurines are designed for small hands and made to withstand loads of imaginary play. Schleich toys can be found at specialty toy and gift shops all around town including nearly all those mentioned above.
