Parents with Infants: BFing a possibly teething baby?

Excuse typos, I’m on my phone  
Idk if its teething or that he has found his hands..but my LO is 2 1/2 months ancient, drooling like crazy, gnawing on his hands, and on the bottom gum like I can see his teeth under his gums. Sometimes they’re more prominent, and some days they’re not there at all ( I know its normal for that to happen) anywhoo here is myquestion.

When its time for him to nurse..he refuses and pulls away everytime I offer boob during the day   I have to like rock him to sleep then place him on the boob & he’ll eat just fine. Then pass out lol. & he puts up a pretty excellent fight too.

Does it sound like he’s teething? Or just life a butthead?

Teething Bites for Parents and Tikes

There is no question about it—teething is painful.

Parents and the American Dental Association report a variety of symptoms associated with teething children, from loss of appetite and drool, to crankiness and biting. And then there are the lucky few whose teeth come through with nearly no symptoms. But, in most cases, babies will experience some disturbance in behavior, intake, sleeping or additional disruptions.

Teething tends to start around 6 months ancient, but some can be as late as 12 months ancient, according to WebMD.com.

My older boy had a mouth full of teeth by the time he turned 1. but my youngest has been a bit slower developing his pearly whites. Still, both have been plagued by a variety of issues that can turn a usually even keeled child into a terror.

Lately we have been dealing with my 15-month-ancient's molars breaking through. He's been intake less, sleeping less, cranky, needy and wanting nothing but mommy. Needless to say, I'm exhausted and we are both ready for this stage to pass.

So how do I combat teething pain without always resorting to baby Tylenol or Orajel?

1. Homemade popsicles: It's very simple to buy store-bought popsicles, but let's face it, they are not the healthiest around. It's also very simple to make your own popsicles from yogurt, fresh fruit or fruit juice. I picked up these adorable Monster Pops at Bed Bath and Beyond, and my teething toddler just likes them—it seems to relieve the pain.
2. Frozen wash cloths: Hold a fresh pack of baby wash cloths, wash them and then soak them in fixed water, ring them out and place them in your freezer. Then, when your toddler is complaining of teething pain, they are ready to go. My son looks forward to life able to chew on this to soothe the pain he's in.
3. Chew, chew, chew: When teething, my kids will bite anything. Anything. I've found that letting my toddler chew on his tooth brush or baby spoon will keep him comfortable much longer than any store bought teething ring. It provides reasonably a distraction and eases the pain, not to mention, at least he's not biting ME!
4. Cold Food. Food that comes honest out of the refrigerator or freezer will help your teething child. Mine like yogurt tubes, grapes, bananas or apples and even bagels. My kids tend to go through food strikes when they are teething so I'll try anything to get some solid calories into them. It's worked for me and might work for your kids too.

No question about it, teething causes pain for parents and baby. But thinking ahead will help keep your kids in check when persons painful teeth break through.

Delayed Teething in Infants | Baby | Parents Connect

Primary teeth—also known as baby teeth—are really formed during your pregnancy. According to the American Dental Association, babies can cut their first tooth anywhere between three to fifteen months of age, with most typically appearing at four to nine months.

Remember, but, that every child develops at his or her own pace. If your child’s first tooth has not erupted by her first birthday, do not be alarmed, but do consult her pediatrician for next steps. NEW YORK — No one can accuse Daniel Goldfarb of having rose-colored glasses when it comes to motherliness.

The playwright’s “Cradle and All” is a cut-to-the-bone look at how babies — persons small apparent bundles of joy — can sometimes more easily resemble grenades, exposing secrets their parents want hidden and straining relationships to the breaking point.

Goldfarb’s smart and pitch-perfect play, which opened Wednesday at Manhattan Theatre Club’s off-Broadway space in New York City Center, is about two couples who share the same yuppie Brooklyn Heights apartment building and are connected by an unseen baby on the same spring night. Both couples are played wonderfully by Maria Dizzia and Greg Keller.

Director Sam Buntrock and the actors have squeezed all the poignancy and humor from a play that is very specific and slight, yet often feels so right that it sometimes becomes universal.

The first couple is childless. But Claire, a 41-year-ancient former actress, has chose to break the news to her boyfriend, Luke, a 34-year-ancient high-end antiques merchant who wears funky Paul Smith glasses, that she wants to have a baby, even though they had agreed not to breed.

“We’re a facsimile of what we used to be. We were the hot new business once and we’re not anymore. We’ve played the tape. It’s a excellent tape, but it’s been played out,” she tells him. “We’re ready for the next level.”

Luke feels trapped, sees his comfortable lifestyle slipping away and lashes out. “You’re so myopic. You can’t getting away from the trappings of your profession. It’s all about you,” he tells her. Motherhood, he accuses her, is just her attempt to substitute adoring fans with an adoring baby.

The cries of an unseen baby emanating from an adjacent apartment frame their fight, fueling Claire’s urgency and Luke’s fears. In Act 2, we find out all about that baby — an 11-month ancient girl named Olivia who is life sleep-trained, which basically earnings the infant bawls alone indefinitely while her parents — Nate and Annie, also played by Dizzia and Keller — nervously pace outside.

As the hours pass, they’re at each additional’s throats, every once in a while turning on the baby monitor to hear Olivia’s anguished cries. “I give up. I want to go to restaurants again. I want to stay out late. I want to wear sexy blouses. I want to watch the ‘Daily Show,’” says an exasperated Annie.

How to handle Olivia’s inconsolable tears exposes sore points in this couple — post-pregnant body issues, differing parenting attitudes, disdain to the additional spouse’s profession, even how much to include the mother-in-law in decisions.

Goldfarb has evidently taken the write-what-you-know advice to heart, making a sharply specific play about pre- and post-baby couples. With evident humor, he has churned up all persons small things that drive couples crazy. Dizzia and Keller play these roles with comfortable aplomb.

“I can’t delight in it when you’re in my peripheral vision,” Annie snaps at her husband at one point. At another, Nate chides his wife for vegging-out to “America’s Next Top Model:” ”Why do you lie about what you watch on TV?”

Neil Patel’s scenic design is spot-on, right down to the posters on the walls of each apartment and the deployment of Sophie the Giraffe, the chic rubber teething toy that’s all the rage in baby circles. He’s also laced the stage with typically high-end appliances and the shiny elegance of the first gives way to a toy-filled, messier set in the second half.

Small touches may make the audience smile in recognition — both couples use the digital oven clock as their main time keeper and seem to have too many remote controls. Then there’s the fact that sound designer Jill BC DuBoff has used a lullaby rendition of a Radiohead song at the start of Act 2.

Goldfarb may not have written a paean to parenthood here, but he’s done something much more fascinating: A sober look at the cost of babies that nevertheless retains a childlike cuteness.

These wonderful exhibitors add a very special flavour to the SABC Education Baba Indaba shows with their unique and gorgeous harvest offering visitors a highly rewarding visitor experience.
An example of the unique items that can be seen and bought at the show include vintage inspired and retro chic children’s sleepwear from Chiliwinky. Vintage children’s clothing is a huge trend in America, the United Kingdom and Australia and is still reasonably new to South Africa. The gorgeous designer sleepwear is made of pure cotton and manufactured right here in South Africa.

A must for moms is entry into the Bump & Beyond Competition where one lucky entrant stands the chance of winning over R80 000 worth of stunning prizes from the exhibitors.

Persons interested in financial matters will not be disappointed as exhibitor African Bank will have a mobile van on site that will be equipped to register and immediately dispense credit cards to customers at the show. Visitors will need to bring relevant documents and apply. And for persons visitors with Edgars cards, there is the opportunity to hold from the Edgars stand at the show using their cards as they would normally do any Edgars branch.

Of course safety while driving is paramount for parents, so BMW and Mini will be on the show floor showcasing their range of family vehicles.

Also vital to visitors are the likes of health and nutrition experts such as Clicks and Vitabiotics who will be there to advise on harvest, pregnancy and baby’s health and Parmalat who will thrill all with their Yumchums and advise on functional milks. Kumon Education, Summit College, Curro Private Schools and SABC Education will be on hand for learning requirements.

Whilst enjoying free parenting talks at the Woolworths small world speaker’s corner, mamas and babas can delight in a free coffee and biscotti, whilst the small ones indulge in the Early Learning Centre toys on offer. Once again mums-to-be can look stylish with the hot fashions from Maternity Lane while parents can get gorgeous pictures of their gorgeous babies at Frantique and QPhoto.

My baby is nearly 5 months & is teething. She doesnt really like teething toys & prefers her fingers. Orajel isn’t helping & she’s miserable! I gave my additional kids (aged 16 & 23) humphreys teething pellets but I hear they’ve been recalled. Does anyone have any recommendations?

Keeping them in the freezer until they are completely frozen is best since they will provide the most comfort. An alternative to this is a washcloth that is clean and exceptionally cold.There is another option that is also available to you, taking a very cold bottle of water and charitable this to your baby can also be exceptionally effective. You can just imagine how pleased your baby will be once the pain stops, plus this will even allow you a bit of relief as well since a teething baby is never much fun to deal with.

my 17 week ancient daughter is teething an i can see what looks like 4 teeth on the bottom the 2 front an one any side she is struggling with it as its started waking her in the night how long does it take to cut through also what can i give her she has tiny hands an hasn’t figured out how to grab things an place them to her mouth yet so her teething rattle is no excellent .

i am able to see my daughter teeth bottom her skin since she is 3-4 months ancient, she started getting her teeth about 2-3 weeks ago, at 10 months
