what is the most painful stage of teething for baby

My LO seems to be in the most pain right before it breaks through the skin. He is despondent and uncomfortable for about a week before and when it pops out he goes back to my pleased man again. Thats just my LO though! I wish you an simple teething process though

Same for us.  With the first tooth, he was still pretty despondent for 2-3 days after it broke the gum, but was back to pleased very quick with the second one.  The second bottom tooth came in about 10 days after the first one.  We’re about to get 2 more on the bottom and the crank has revved back up.
